Electric Range Rover L322 Tesla Restomod Build
Some builds are designed to impress on paper. Others stop people in their tracks before they even understand what they are looking at.
This Range Rover L322 does exactly that.
At first glance, it looks like a perfectly restored luxury SUV sitting impossibly low over a staggered set of motorsport-inspired wheels. The proportions feel familiar, yet slightly different. Cleaner. Wider. More planted. Then the details begin to unfold. The silence when it moves. The modern stance. The precision of the fitment. And eventually the realization hits — beneath the timeless L322 body sits an entirely new Tesla Model 3 Performance chassis.
Commissioned and built by Caresto AB Sweden, this project is not simply an EV conversion. It is a complete reinterpretation of what a modern luxury restomod can become when craftsmanship, engineering, and restraint are given equal importance. Follow more of Caresto’s incredible projects here:

The original Range Rover L322 has always carried a unique kind of authority. Unlike many modern SUVs chasing aggressive styling or excessive technology, the L322 represented an era where luxury felt architectural. Strong body lines, upright proportions, and understated elegance gave it a presence that still feels timeless today. Instead of replacing that identity, this build amplifies it.

The Wheels Itself
Beneath the custom bodywork sits one of the defining details of the entire build: a staggered setup of our Fuchs Reimagined Wheels finished in Machined Satin.
The setup features:
- Front: 20x8
- Rear: 21x10
- Porsche 5x130 PCD
- 71.6mm center bore
The wheel choice plays a critical role in the overall identity of the vehicle. Inspired by the legendary Fuchs motorsport design, the Fuchs Reimagined wheel blends vintage racing heritage with modern proportions and engineering. On this build, the design works perfectly against the classic Range Rover silhouette because it adds motorsport character without overpowering the vehicle itself.

The Machined Satin finish catches light subtly, allowing the wheel geometry and staggered sizing to stand out naturally. The larger rear setup gives the vehicle a planted grand touring appearance while visually emphasizing the performance-focused EV platform underneath.
More importantly, the wheels contribute to the emotional balance of the build. Too aggressive, and the SUV would lose its elegance. Too conservative, and the project would lose its edge. This setup lands perfectly in between — classy, low, and fast.
Inside, the bespoke interior continues the same philosophy. Rather than turning the cabin into a futuristic science experiment filled with oversized screens and distractions, the build retains a sense of warmth and sophistication. Modern functionality is integrated carefully into the original architecture, preserving the identity of the L322 while elevating it into something far more exclusive and contemporary.
This is what separates high-end restomods from ordinary custom builds.
Every detail feels intentional.

The longer you look at the vehicle, the more the craftsmanship reveals itself. The panel fitment. The stance. The integration of old and new. The simplicity of the design language. Nothing relies on shock factor. Instead, the build earns attention through proportion, execution, and confidence.
That approach is becoming increasingly rare in modern automotive culture.
Today, many EV projects lean heavily into futuristic aesthetics, oversized aero, or exaggerated digital design. This build moves in the opposite direction. It respects timeless design while embracing modern technology underneath. The result is a vehicle that feels relevant today but will likely remain visually iconic years from now.
And perhaps that is the most impressive part of the entire project.
This electrified L322 does not feel like a compromise between classic and modern. It feels like the natural evolution of both.

For enthusiasts who appreciate craftsmanship, engineering, and understated luxury, this build represents the future of high-end restomod culture — where timeless platforms are reimagined with modern performance while still preserving the emotional connection that made them iconic in the first place.
