VLD Porsche 911 Widebody Build – A Reimagined Classic from Puerto Rico

When it comes to pushing the boundaries of design, performance, and style, our long-time partner VLD from Puerto Rico has always set the bar high. Our journey together began with his Porsche Cayenne 958 off-road build, where we developed a set of custom forged off-road Fuchs wheels specifically tailored for his vision. That project was just the beginning.

Fast forward to today, and we’re proud to showcase the latest evolution of our collaboration — a 1985 Porsche 911 transformed into a modern motorsport masterpiece.

The Build – Widebody Aggression Meets Timeless Heritage

The base car is a classic 1985 Porsche 911, now boasting a custom widebody kit that dramatically amplifies its stance. The front wheels measure 18x10 while the rears stretch to an impressive 18x12, wrapped in performance tires ready for both track and spirited street driving. (Offset details? Let’s just say that’s a closely guarded secret in the VLD workshop.)

The build began with a bold choice — a full matte black wrap that gave the Cayenne an aggressive, stealthy stance. The blacked-out aesthetic wasn’t just about looks; it also set the tone for the rugged and adventurous path ahead. Even at this early stage, the vehicle stood apart from the typical urban SUV crowd, hinting at the transformation that was yet to come.

Retro-Mod Upgrades – Lighting & Exhaust

As part of the retro-mod phase, the VLD 911 Cayenne received custom LED tail lights, designed to enhance both safety and aesthetics. These lights brought a modern flair to the rear profile, giving the vehicle a distinctive night-time presence. Paired with custom exhaust works, the Cayenne’s sound transformed into a deeper, more purposeful growl — the kind that announces its arrival long before it comes into view.

Stage 2 — Rothmans-Inspired Widebody Statement

With geometry proven, the 911 moved into its final form: a Rothmans-inspired livery layered over a widebody kit with deep ducts and defined shoulders. The car now reads like a late-‘80s works special—low, wide, and absolutely planted.

Lastly Akioverland forged fitment for flush, concavity and deep lip maximised.

Road Manners & Presence

The finished car carries the attitude of a Group-era special—but with the composure you want on modern pavement. It’s tactile, immediate, and surprisingly refined. From the matte-black prototype to the Rothmans-inspired showpiece, this VLD 911 is proof that fitment engineering and design restraint create the most timeless builds.
